Functions & Skills

A skill is a collection of functions that give expertise to the AI. Functions can be either AI prompts or native computer code. By connecting these functions, the AI gains enhanced capabilities. The terms "semantic function" and "prompt" can be used interchangeably when referring to AI prompts.

Semantic functions serve as instructions for the AI, while native functions enable direct data manipulation and execution of operations. Native functions are particularly useful for tasks that AI prompts may not be suitable for, such as complex calculations, handling large amounts of data or accessing data from local resources.
